September, ab 14:00 Uhr MEZ<\/strong>, findet via Zoom\u00a0<strong>eine Online-Konferenz<\/strong> mit dem Titel <strong>Information Matters: Enhancing Adults Digital and Media Literacy (Verbesserung der Digital- und Medienkompetenz von Erwachsenen)\u00a0<\/strong>will be held, dedicated to the topic of media literacy with a focus on its acquisition by adult users over 55 years old. The event topic will be discussed in a broad perspective by inviting participants from all over Europe to engage and interact: experts in the field of media and digital literacy, librarians, adult educators, policymakers, representatives of non-governmental organizations whose practice has intersections. The event will be carried out in English as a working language. Duration: approx. 60 min.<\/p>\n<p>Diese Konferenz ist als Abschlussveranstaltung f\u00fcr das<strong> Projekt Information Matters<\/strong>geplant, das im Zeitraum Februar 2023 - Oktober 2024 mit finanzieller Unterst\u00fctzung der Europ\u00e4ischen Union im Rahmen des Programms Erasmus+ realisiert wird. Die Konferenz bietet damit einen \u00dcberblick \u00fcber die Ergebnisse und die Herausforderungen im Zusammenhang mit der Umsetzung des dieses Projekts. Over the last twenty-five years, Paolo has accumulated considerable international experience in media, working for long periods in London, Milan, and Brussels. He is an economist from Pisa University with a sound knowledge of European affairs. He follows high-level fora such as the Steering Committee on Media and Information Society at the Council of Europe and various European Commission Expert Groups. He is also a member of the Advisory Board of the European Audiovisual Observatory in Strasbourg and other international forums and organisations like the UNESCO MIL Alliance. Paolo has authored books, articles, audiovisual productions, policy papers and four different European-wide research studies covering 27 countries on media literacy and citizens-related issues. He previously worked for both private and public broadcasters, including advising the BBC and RAI. He has also worked for television advertising agencies and collaborated with other public bodies. Paolo enjoys conducting conversations with international guests and also offers public speaking and presentations on media literacy and disinformation-related issues. He has been invited to speak in four different languages in more than 20 different countries at more than 100 international conferences across and beyond Europe. He has also directed many different European projects and organised workshops and training about the role of media in people\u2019s lives. He remains animated by the numerous challenges posed by emerging media forms, and he is interested in the role of media, technologies, artificial intelligence, disinformation, and digital citizenship in shaping our societies.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6><strong>Nikola Tulechki<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>Nikola is a linguist and knowledge engineer at Ontotext since 2017. He is one of the founders of the \u00a0&#8220;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/data-for-good.bg\/?fbclid=IwY2xjawFfq-pleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHU5E2vighNqigE0EwHyA00RsgvVkMcEfbgKcmTvGpCk2BZFa2UvSqFyQ1g_aem_CayxwhdYTayIxwTreL4ILA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Data for Good Bulgaria<\/a><\/strong>&#8221; and the Association for Fair Elections.<br \/>\nHe has a PhD from Toulouse federal Univerisity (France) on applications of natural language processing of aviation accident reports. Nikola teaches a &#8220;Semantic Technologies&#8221; course at Sofia University and in New Bulgarian University.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6><strong>Justine Toms<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>Justine Toms was born in Sofia, a Bulgarian from Armenian origin. She has Master degrees from Sofia University in Pedagogy, French philology and Philosophy. Justine is among the pioneers of the Bulgarian Internet &#8211; expert in online communication, creator of multiple websites and two web contests. An expert in online media and marketing, founder of digital agency <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/abcbg.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ABC Design &amp; Communication<\/a><\/strong><span style=\"color: #282828\">\u00a0<\/span>since 1988. Justine has also been the idea leader of the competition for best Bulgarian online projects &#8211; BG Site since 1999. A university teacher at New Bulgarian University, Sofia University and SoftUni Digital. For many years, Justine has been an activist-volunteer in numerous initiatives &#8211; child&#8217;s reading, digital competences, online safety, Wikipedia and open source, environmental topics.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<hr \/>\n<p><em>Von der Europ\u00e4ischen Union finanziert.
